Job Description:

The Recruiting Specialist I works in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions to guide candidates and hiring managers through the hiring process. This position focuses on filling clerical, support, and administrative positions, which can include high-volume hiring. The Recruiting Specialist I also participates in select projects to continually improve the company’s ability to attract, identify, and retain high-quality employees and future leaders.

Key Functions

  • Creates job postings in applicant tracking system and manages candidate flow through each step of the process.
  • Works closely with hiring managers to understand and identify key candidate qualifications to aid in the selection process.
  • Performs initial application and phone screens to identify highly qualified candidates to advance to interviews.
  • May filter candidates into more suitable roles based on experience and identified skill sets.
  • Coordinates interviews and preemployment tests for candidates, acting as primary liaison between candidates and hiring teams through the hiring process.
  • Facilitates employee profile creation in payroll and HRIS systems, including verification of I-9 records, and personal and employment information.
  • Participates in new hire onboarding to introduce culture cores and what to expect as an employee at AmeriBen.
  • Maintains recruiting metrics to support workforce planning efforts and communication to internal stakeholders around staffing goals.
  • Maintains working knowledge of related federal and state laws, including those related to protected classes and permissible interview questions.
  • Adheres to AmeriBen culture by demonstrating Integrity, Initiative, Good Judgment, and Teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure individual and group goals are achieved with Accuracy, Customer Service and Timely Turnaround.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications & education

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in a customer service-related role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in an administrative or Human Resource-related role
