Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic, well-rounded individual with leadership qualities to fill a Senior Account Representative position within our organization who has a passion for servicing our client base and learning the processes of a third-party administrator in the Taft-Hartley business.

Successful candidates will be responsible to call on brokers, consultants and clients to develop strong customer relationships and develop and implement custom solutions to meet their needs.

This person will ensure existing plans renew by developing relationships with plan sponsors and brokers.

Key Result Areas


  • Primarily responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with clients and brokers/consultants.

  • Works collaboratively with clients and brokers providing leadership oversight for plan year renewals, facilitating client meetings, reporting to provide actionable data, and recommending strategies for overall cost containment.

  • Serves as a resource for clients and brokers, assisting them with issue resolution and workflow improvements, as well as consulting in areas of plan design, industry regulations, and analyzing market trends.

  • Responsible for executing and managing the renewal process for existing clients.

  • Highly focused on developing and enhancing long-lasting partnerships.

Have a desire to learn new processes, understand current processes and effectively communicate benefits to Plan and Client representatives.




  • Maintains client retention and is responsible for client renewals and implementations

  • Provides strategic direction for the client

  • Consults with clients, vendors and other industry consultants

  • Manages key vendor relationships

  • Resolves overall plan issues

  • Advises plan sponsor and/or broker on plan design to reduce cost while improving accuracy, customer service, and timely turnaround

  • Serves as a primary AmeriBen contact for plan sponsor’s benefits manager function and/or broker for overall plan issues

  • Educates the plan sponsor and/or broker on benefit administration issues

  • Assists with quotes for new and renewing self-funded insurance groups



  • Will need to learn, in detail, the process for managing benefits to allow AmeriBen to answer questions on individual claims for employees and management team of self-funded groups, and where applicable, its brokers/consultants

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or needed


Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of group insurance experience, preferably in the self-funded industry.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent related experience

  • Ability to obtain life/health insurance license within six months

  • Ability to work efficiently, multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines

  • Manage a case load of for 5 - 10 groups

  • Prepare 10 to 20 renewals and new plan quotes per year

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the Essential Key Result Areas with or without a reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self

  • Protect and enhance the Core Purpose and the Core Values of the AmeriBen/IEC Group



Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to spend 35-50% of time out of the office with clients

  • Requires the ability to be out of the office and on the road 4-8 nights per month
