Job Summary


The Transcendental Happiness Health coach engages employees utilizing the Transcendental Happiness Wheel in health improvement and health care to help empower their daily journey to Transcendental Happiness. The position provides telephonic outreach and engagement to members in the case management, disease management and wellness program(s). This includes planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the health care services required to meet the overall needs of employees with the objectives of improving or enhancing the member’s Transcendental Happiness Wheel.


Key Result Areas


  • Performs job responsibilities at employer site as on-site Health Coach for employees.

  • Contacts participants that are eligible for the program for enrollment and provides necessary wellness coaching to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors.

  • Engages employees in skill-building, goal-setting, resiliency-building, and healthy living skills.

  • Charts interventions and employee progress in Medical Management software system(s).

  • Coordinates care with Disease Management, Case Management and Utilization Management staff.

  • Encourages adoption of habits that are conducive to a higher quality of life.

  • Supports operational aspects of the division to meet the organization’s customer requirements and satisfaction.

  • Develops and conducts onsite health-related wellness seminars and training courses for interested employees and family members.

  • Develops and distributes health education materials to identified employees and family members.

  • Develops customized care plan for program participants including goals and plan of action.

  • Coordinates care with other health-related vendors for optimal patient care.

  • Provides telephonic outreach and engagement to members for case management, disease management, and wellness program(s).

  • Participates in AmeriBen wellness fair to promote wellness opportunities and coordinate biometrics.

  • Participates in Benefit Committee meetings.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferred degree or certification in health science, exercise physiology, dietary, public health, counseling, social work, nursing or a related field

  • Health Coach certification and experience preferred

  • Minimum experience of two to three years in health promotion, wellness, or health education is required

  • Candidate should be health-centered and should be able to model healthy lifestyle skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and with the ability to navigate a Windows environment

  • Demonstrates integrity, initiative, good judgment and teamwork

  • Strong interpersonal relationship & communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently, efficiently, perform multi-tasking, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Experience working with people to improve their physical or psychosocial health, or both
