Job Description:

The Account Representative III has a passion for servicing our client base and selling value-added products to help grow their book of business. Successful candidates will be responsible to call on brokers, consultants and clients to develop strong customer relationships and develop and implement custom solutions to meet their needs.

Key Result Areas

  • Ensures existing plans renew and sells ancillary revenue by developing relationships with plan sponsors and brokers for 5 - 10 groups that have at least 2 groups with more than 5000 employee lives.
  • Prepares 10 to 20 renewals and new plan quotes per year.
  • Maintains client retention and is responsible for client renewals and implementations.
  • Up-sells & cross-sells AmeriBen products and services.
  • Provides strategic direction for the company.
  • Consulst with clients, vendors and other industry consultants.
  • Manages key vendor relationships.
  • Resolves overall plan issues.
  • Advises plan sponsor and/or broker on plan design to reduce cost while improving accuracy, customer service, and timely turnaround.
  • Serves as a primary AmeriBen contact for plan sponsor’s benefits manager function and/or broker for overall plan issues.
  • Educates the plan sponsor and/or broker on benefit administration issues.
  • Assists with quotes for new and renewing self-funded insurance groups.
  • Answers questions on individual claims for employees and management team of self-funded groups, and where applicable, its brokers/consultants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Three (3) years of group insurance experience and preferably in the self-funded industry.
  • Manage a case load of up to 15 groups.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate Accuracy, Customer Service, Timely Turn-Around (ACT).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to work efficiently, perform multi-tasking, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and discretion, as well as the ability to adhere to both company policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security practices and procedures, including HIPAA and HITRUST standards.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the Key Result Areas with or without a reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.
  • Protect and enhance the Core Purpose and the Core Values of AmeriBen.

Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to spend 50% of time out of the office with clients.
  • Requires the ability to be out of the office and on the road 4-6 nights per month.
