Experience and Skills:

In a growing and exciting company, a Client Accounting Team Lead is responsible for assisting the Supervisor with higher-level accounting and administration functions, with new group implementations, mentoring staff with personal and professional development, training, and more.

Key Result Areas

  • Performs in leadership roles as assigned, supports and mentors staff with research, problem solving, analysis, technical issues and workload coverage.
  • Assists with department initiatives and improvements, reporting, research and problem solving. Helps to develop improved reporting and processes, and trains staff members as needed.
  • Manages new group implementations as assigned. Attends meetings, gathers information, sets-up accounting systems, establishes client specific processes, and communicates with internal and external customers.
  • Assists with bank account reconciliations, reviews account activity, and determines system entries as necessary.
  • Manages client payments for fixed costs and miscellaneous plan expenses. Ensures fees are paid accurately and timely, while providing high levels of customer service.
  • Assists with month-end close review. Identifies coding and system entry errors, works with staff to post corrections, and finalizes month-end close tasks to close by fourth business day.
  • Works with staff to update and develop process documentation. Reviews and updates procedures as needed to ensure written processes are current and accurate.
  • Oversees projects as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field.
  • Eight (8) or more years of applied accounting and business experience.  
  • Leadership and mentoring experience is preferred.  
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team having strong initiative, research, customer service and communication skills.
  • Possess a disciplined focus for detail, accuracy and problem solving, and demonstrates a high apptitude for making sound decisions using good judgment and integrity with Client’s bank accounts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, Internet and Quickbooks.
  • Experience with large bank account reconciliations, spreadsheets and analyzing accounting data.
  • Demonstrate a good aptitude and understanding of technology, computers and software programs.
  • Efficiently work with clients and vendors on the phone to address accounting issues.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate Accuracy, Customer Service, Timely Turn-Around (ACT).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to work efficiently, perform multi-tasking, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and discretion, as well as the ability to adhere to both company policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security practices and procedures, including HIPAA and HITRUST standards.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the Key Result Areas with or without a reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.
