Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic, well-rounded individual with leadership qualities to fill a Senior Account Representative position within our organization, who has a passion for servicing our client base and selling value-added products to help grow our book of business.

Successful candidates will be responsible to call on brokers, consultants and clients to develop strong customer relationships and develop and implement custom solutions to meet their needs. 

This position will ensure existing plans renew, and sell ancillary revenue by developing relationships with plan sponsors and brokers for 5 - 10 groups that have at least 2 groups with more than 5000 employee lives.

 

Key Result Areas  

  • Primarily responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with clients and broker/consultants.
  • Manages a case load of for 5 - 10 groups with at least 2 groups in excess of 5000 employee lives.
  • Prepares 10 to 20 renewals and new plan quotes per year.
  • Works collaboratively with clients and brokers providing leadership oversight for plan year renewals, facilitating client meetings, reporting to provide actionable data, and recommending strategies for overall cost containment.
  • Serves as a resource for clients and brokers, assisting them with issue resolution and workflow improvements, as well as consulting in areas of plan design, industry regulations, and analyzing market trends.
  • Responsible for executing and managing the implementation process for new clients.
  • Highly focused on developing and enhancing long-lasting partnerships.
  • Maintains client retention and is responsible for client renewals and implementations.
  • Up-sells & cross-sells AmeriBen products and services.
  • Provides strategic direction for the company.
  • Consults with clients, vendors and other industry consultants.
  • Manages key vendor relationships.
  • Resolves overall plan issues.
  • Advises plan sponsor and/or broker on plan design to reduce cost while improving accuracy, customer service, and timely turnaround.
  • Serves as a primary AmeriBen contact for plan sponsor’s benefits manager function and/or broker for overall plan issues.
  • Educates the plan sponsor and/or broker on benefit administration issues.
  • Assists with quotes for new and renewing self-funded insurance groups.
  • Answers questions on individual claims for employees and management team of self-funded groups, and where applicable, its brokers/consultants.
  • Cross-sells other services of the IEC Group to self-funded groups.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Three years of group insurance experience, preferably in the self-funded industry.
  • Ability to obtain life/health insurance license within six months.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate Accuracy, Customer Service, Timely Turn-Around (ACT).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to work efficiently, perform multi-tasking, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and discretion, as well as the ability to adhere to both company policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security practices and procedures, including HIPAA and HITRUST standards.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the Key Result Areas with or without a reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.

Travel Requirements  

  • Must be able to spend 50-75% of time out of the office with clients.
  • Requires the ability to be out of the office and on the road 4-8 nights per month.
