Job Purpose

External Audit Coordinator acts as the liaison between the AmeriBen teams and external audit firms, including vendor partner NTT Data. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective project management skills and teamwork to ensure audit fieldwork is supported and follow through completed. This role includes the opportunity to grow with the advancing industry, and to showcase critical thinking and technical writing skills.


Job Description


Key Functions

  • Assists the AmeriBen teams to perform all aspects of the audit engagement, such as providing requested documentation and responses to audit issues identified.
  • Manages multiple short-term and long-term projects concurrently with Accuracy, Customer Service, and Timely Turnaround, which often requires frequent switch-tasking.
  • Uses strong critical thinking skills to assess whether audit findings will have an isolated or global impact, and to determine recommended action plans to address the discrepancies found.
  • Leverages excellent written and verbal communication skills to report findings based upon the results of the audit to internal stakeholders including mid and upper-level management.
  • Collaborates with other internal departments to determine appropriate responses to audits and corrective action plans.
  • Assist internal teams with ensuring corrective action plans are appropriate to client delivery providing feedback on the language and examples used, and ensuring secure information is removed.
  • Assist team with large dollar reporting including error trending for end-to end resolution
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with internal teams and audit firms
  • Manage audit partner as outlined in vendor contract
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure individual and group goals are achieved with Accuracy, Customer Service and Timely Turnaround

Experience and Skills:


Minimum Qualifications & Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-5 years Healthcare industry experience, preferably in the TPA sector
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of medical and dental terminology
  • Understanding of claims adjudication systems
