Job Description:

$48,100+ depending on experience 

A Quality Assurance Specialist II works with a variety of resources to create and execute tests validating the requirements and functionality of ongoing software development.   This position uses creative thinking and problem-solving skills to contribute to team-based solutions.

Key Functions

  • Validate business and end-user expectations are met through the test/QA process.
  • Research business requirements to capture feature and regression test scenarios. 
  • Contribute to and maintain a repository of test plans that can be reused and incorporated into automated testing.
  • Execute test plans to ensure new software meets established quality standards
  • Prepare data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows.
  • Isolate, reproduce and track defects and fixes.
  • Demonstrate AmeriBen culture with Integrity, Initiative, Good Judgment, and Teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of individual and group efforts.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications & Education 

  • Associate degree or certification in quality control or computer science or software development or related field, or 4+ years of equivalent experience
  • Comfortable reaching out to end-users, developers, and product owners to clarify requirements and set expectations.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability and desire to learn technical aspects of automated testing and release management
  • Eager to grow and to help others grow

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in computer science, information systems, software development or related field, or 4+ years of equivalent experience in Information Systems, Information Technology
  • Healthcare industry knowledge
  • CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)
  • Experienced with QA testing concepts, tools, and methodologies
  • Adept with relational database concepts including SQL, T-SQL, Referential Integrity, etc.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and SLDC
