Job Description:

 AmeriBen is a proud member of the Elevance Health family of companies. We are a third-party administrator (TPA) of medical benefits, also providing medical management, human resource consulting and retirement benefits administration services.


Job Summary


The Software Developer II role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. This is an intermediate-level position with assigned roles and responsibilities related to the day-to-day activities required to support core business applications. This position is expected to also perform the duties and assignments of a Software Developer I as needed.

  • Successfully completes complex coding assignments following established coding standards.
  • Drives improvement opportunities and the develop/implementation of the solutions.
  • Keeps current on emerging behaviors and technologies that could impact/benefit the business.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.



Experience and Skills:


Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years technical experience
  • Accurately document requirements, changes, change control documents and approvals.
  • Prioritize, plan and coordinate assigned tasks to ensure timely turn-around.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft platforms.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment and with external groups.
  • Programming within a SQL environment (creating views, triggers, stored procedures), as well as using SQL-based queries from within programming languages.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Excellent customer service attitude and professionalism.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and discretion, as well as the ability to comply to both company policies and best practices, including HIPAA and HITRUST standards.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the Key Result Areas with or without a reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.
  • Protect and enhance the Core Purpose and the Core Values of AmeriBen.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Accomplished programmer in .NET MVC, HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • 4+ years experience in C#
  • Skilled with testing concepts, tools and methodologies for .Net, web design and database driven applications.
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Computer Science Degree or Certification
